About the Scan - Neck CT Scans

SMIL radiologists perform a neck CT scan using a special x-ray machine to take detailed pictures of the organs and tissues of the neck. CT scans provide more detail on neck injuries, tumors, and other diseases than plain x-ray pictures. Neck CT scans can also show bone, soft tissues, and blood vessels in the same pictures.

Our radiologists are skilled in neck CT scanning and will review and interpret the CT findings to locate abnormalities in the neck. A neck CT scan can take up to 15 minutes to complete.

Neck CT scans can detect or confirm the presence of a tumor and provide information about the size and location of the tumor and whether it has spread. Neck CT scanning also enables our radiologists to determine whether the cancerous cells are responding to treatment.

We keep our patients as comfortable as possible during the painless neck CT scan.
