Guidelines about eating and drinking before a prostate MR scan vary with the specific exam. You may be asked not to eat for 4 hours prior, to abstain from sexual activity for 3 days prior, and to perform a mineral oil or saline enema (available over the counter) four hours prior to your exam.
You will be asked to change into a gown on the day of your prostate MR scan at SMIL. You will be asked to remove all metal objects including jewelry, watches, dentures, and removable hearing aids prior to your exam.
Please inform your SMIL staff of any health conditions and recent illnesses and surgeries.
