Preparations- Sinus CT Scan

You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your sinus CT scan at SMIL. Metal objects, including jewelry, eyeglasses, dentures and hairpins, may affect the CT images and should be left at home or removed for the sinus CT scan. You may be asked to remove hearing aids and removable dental work. Women will be asked to remove bras containing metal underwire. Other piercings may also be asked to be removed if possible for a sinus scan.

You should inform your doctor or one of our radiologists if you use a pacemaker device. Women should let our office know if there is a possibility they could be pregnant.

Keep taking your regular medicines prescribed by your doctor. Please inform our office of any known allergies to medications. Also, let our radiologists know if you have asthma, multiple myeloma or any disorder of the heart, kidneys, or thyroid gland, or if you have diabetes before receiving a neck CT scan.
