Preparations for Breast Tomosynthesis (3D)– Southwest Medical Imaging

Patients will receive an invitation to enroll in the SMIL Patient Portal within 48 hours after visiting one of our locations for an appointment. If you did not receive an invitation after 48 hours, or have questions about the Patient Portal, please contact SMIL Medical Records at patientportal@esmil.com.

Preparations- Breast Tomosynthesis (3D)

On the day of your breast Tomosynthesis (3D) exam at SMIL, you will need to undress from the waist up, so a two piece outfit is recommended. Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder, perfume or lotion under your arms or on your breasts on the day of your exam. These can sometimes appear on the images.

If you experience patterns of sensitivity in the breasts, be sure to schedule your breast Tomosynthesis (3D) exam when your breasts are least sensitive. You will experience slight pressure on the breasts during the breast Tomosynthesis (3D) exam.

I was quoted a price on the phone by scheduling that was half the price presented to me at check in for my CT. Vanessa honored the price that was quoted over the phone so I really appreciate that. The injection and the procedure went very smooth. My wrist felt great the next day and I received my results quickly.

Imaging service great, voicemail system for patients awful. Impossible to get a human being to speak with for issues other than scheduling or billing. Voicemail options are rigid and make no provision for "all other issues" not included in the list of reasons you might be calling.
