Preparations- Neck MR Scan

On the day of your neck MR scan, you will change into a gown and remove all metal objects, including jewelry, eyeglasses and hair clips. Hearing aids, dentures and other removable objects should be taken out as well to avoid interfering with the neck MRI scan at SMIL.

Tell your SMIL technologist if you have any metal screws, surgical staples or other metal in your body. You will be asked to remove any piercings if possible.

Keep taking your regular medicines prescribed by your doctor. Please inform SMIL radiologist of any known allergies to medications. Also, let our staff know if you have asthma, multiple myeloma or any disorder of the heart, kidneys, or thyroid gland, or if you have diabetes before receiving a neck MR scan.
