Vascular Capabilities

Vascular Interventional Procedures — We have been the predominant provider of peripheral endovascular treatments to the Scottsdale community for over twenty years. We offer a complete range of peripheral arterial, neurovascular, and venous interventions.

Peripheral Arterial Interventions — Prior to treatment, we use clinical evaluation and state-of-the-art vascular imaging techniques (non-invasive Doppler, CTA, and MRA) to diagnose the extent and location of the patient's peripheral arterial disease. When necessary, we can then perform the full spectrum of peripheral arterial endovascular interventions, including but not limited to the following:

When appropriate, we work directly with our local vascular surgeons using a "team approach" to provide the best treatment alternatives available. Examples of this approach include:
Neurovascular Interventions - Carotid Stenting is gaining a central role in the treatment of carotid occlusive disease. Using our combination of diagnostic imaging expertise and neurointerventional expertise, we are uniquely qualified to select the appropriate patients for this procedure and to safely perform this procedure. Other services offered by our expanding neurointerventional practice include:- Intra-arterial stroke thrombolysis in the setting of acute stroke
Venous Interventions — Interventional Radiology is leading the way in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. Catheter-directed thrombolytic therapy and mechanical thrombectomy have an emerging role in the treatment of acute and early subacute ileo-femoral deep vein thrombosis. We also place inferior vena cava filters on a permanent or temporary basis to decrease the risk of pulmonary embolism.

Dialysis - Hemodialysis is the mainstay of therapy offered to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Maintaining patency of the arterial-to-venous graft or fistula is crucial for the survival of the patient. Utilizing techniques of thrombolysis, balloon angioplasty and stenting, we can help improve long-term patency. Plus, we commonly insert dialysis catheters using imaging guidance to ensure optimal catheter placement.
