Southwest Medical Imaging was the first independent imaging center to establish a Research Institute to support the imaging requirements of clinical trials throughout our community. From its inception in 1995, our research team has participated in successful and efficient clinical trials. Consisting of a full staff of research coordinators, and drawing from the clinical expertise of our board-certified and fellowship-trained radiologists and experienced technologists, we are able to deliver technically exquisite imaging and trustworthy data.

The Research Institute at SMIL is dedicated to conducting all aspects of clinical research efficiently and at the highest level of quality. In addition to providing clinical trials services to sponsors, community physicians, and SMIL's own physician investigators,our Research Institute has supported efforts to author articles, abstracts, book chapters and more for peer-reviewed journals and other educational media.

Our team of experienced research coordinators possess a thorough knowledge of accepted standards of good clinical practice including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Federal Regulations (21 CFR 50,54, 56, 312, 314, 600, 601, 812 and 814) as well as the International Conference on Harmonization E6 Good Clinical Practice (ICHGC P) guidelines.
